In his column in the Telegraph, ageing parent James Trollope charts his struggle to be a good father | |
James Trollope became a dud dad at the tender age of 46. His well-meaning but inept stab at fatherhood is the subject of a column in the Daily Telegraph. This website contains some past columns about his three-year-old daughter Katie, his baby son Tom and Natalie, their life-savingly competent 32-year-old mother. But, more importantly it gives you the opportunity to share your own dud dad tales. So dads, children and, above all mums, please don’t hold back - you can email your experiences to james@duddad.co.uk. James was a dud chorister at St George’s Chapel Windsor
(looked the part but couldn’t sing) and a dud ski-lift attendant in France
(couldn’t speak French or ski) before embarking on a slightly less dud
career in newspapers, radio and television. He gave up his job as
a TV reporter to live in the Roussillon region of France before family
life intervened. Thankfully, Natalie still has a successful career
with the BBC.
